At the BFP, scientific questions about processing techniques are examined in archaeological experiments on glass furnaces reconstructed according to roman models, and various techniques are tested and refined. To this end, glass vessels (e.g. moulded bowls, free- and mould-blown drinking glasses, jugs and bottles, etc.), but also roman window glass panes are produced at the wood-fired clay furnaces. The project is open to the public.

Objects and drawings are often thought of as two separate entities. This body of work explores and interweaves the creative possibilities of this liminal space, where the form is not just a support for drawing; but a three-dimensional drawing itself. Using the unique qualities of the material, and the rich potential of mark making on and with glass, I am using line as a way to inform, define and enable three-dimensional space.

The Lisbon Museum presents some glass objects that are part of its collection or that come from archaeological excavations carried out in the city. These collections are usually kept in reserve, given their fragility and the often fragmented state in which the pieces were found underground. However, they represent a considerable part of Lisbon's history and are a bridge between the present and all those who used these glass pieces in their lost, more or less distant, everyday life.

The 16th International Conference on the Physics of Non-Crystalline Solids will be an international forum for discussion of the most recent developments in the physics of non-crystalline solids. It is the latest in a series started in 1958. Glass is a scientifically fascinating material, and even its fundamental nature is one of the major unsolved problems in physics. Furthermore glasses, glass-ceramics and sol-gel derived materials are also enormously important for their practical applications.

Exhibition of glass recycling art at Baikal.
Russia is facing a serious problem with glass recycling. People are not used to sorting their waste.
Glass is an infinitely recyclable material but every day at Baikal tons of glass containers are thrown away by tourists to rubbish dumps.
The main idea of the exhibition is to make people consider glass as a valuable resource.
We are planning to create about 50 different art objects using glass bottles, jars, dishes and waste from window production.

Each student can look forward to being able to create their very own piece, whether it's an animal or a human or a mixture of both. There is no limitation to who you want your character to be. At the end of the class, we will stand them all together for a big family portrait. I will share a variety of techniques, from solid to hollow sculpting and sketch to bench practices.

This workshop is all about applying hot glass techniques on figurative glass sculptures. Students will work on colouring methods, shaping techniques and experimental applications.

You can make 2D models of your sculpture designs beforehand. By this way, it would be easier to focus on production process and rough copy diversification. At the end of the program, you’ll be able to see how to create a 3D glass object and how to get the end result in a fast way.

This is going to be a design focused workshop. We need to use at least 50% glass material if we’d like to call the end piece “glass”. The rest of it could be completed by using other creative materials in the same direction to the artist’s way of creative thinking. You may not be your best in shaping glass; there may always better crafters. It would be enough to know well enough how to shape glass and how the risks are in order to get ahead others with a good design.

Museu de Mataró’s exhibition on the importance of glass production in Mataró. The collection preserves archaeological finds from the territory, from the Roman period to the 20th century. From the latter it is important to highlight the donation from the Cooperativa de Cristalleries de Mataró, which was Spain's major lightbulb producer, and at the same time a space of artisan creation of decorative objects. It will also include art pieces from various contemporary artists who work with glass.

Highlighting marine conservation in the World Heritage SharkBay & Ningaloo, this glass exhibition & publishing project, focusses on waste glass. Landfill use continues unabated in these locations, recognised for their wealth of biodiversity & natural beauty. Inundated with glass waste from ecotourism, the vast Australian distances preclude transport for recycling. Promoting glass art as objects of beauty & curiosity, raises the conversation to prioritise in-situ glass recycling for construction.

The exhibition Pleiad of Glass 1946-2019, which has consisted of art-exhibition glass objects, has been expanded to include almost fifty large-scale sculptures from the collections of the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague. All of the exhibited objects document not only the creativity of Czech artists, which in its day foreshadowed the future developments in art glass in the world, but also the technical virtuosity of the master glassmakers that collaborated in the execution of these artworks.
